Citizens of Gwantu Chiefdom have been called upon to turn out en masse to participate in the Coronation and Presentation of staff of office to the Chief of Gwantu, His Royal Highness, Malam Balarabe Abdullahi Karma.
Chairman, Local Organizing Committee of the Ceremony, Waziri Isa Adam, who is also the Wazirin Gwantu III made the call while addressing journalists on the state of preparations of the event scheduled to take place on Thursday 22nd December, 2022, by 10 am at Government Day Secondary School Gwantu, Sanga Local Government area of Kaduna State.
The Wazirin Gwantu called on people of the Chiefdom to cooperate with his committee and abide by all security arrangements and personnel deployed for the purpose of ensuring security before, during and after the ceremony.
He disclosed that prominent sons and daughters of the Chiefdom at home and in diaspora have begun trouping home to be part of the historic Coronation of ‘Mai Gwantu’ and to welcome Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufa’I, whom they love and admire for responding to their age long agitation for the creation of Gwantu Chiefdom for self-determination, progress and development of the area.
Waziri said arrangements for the successful hosting of the coronation to be performed by Kaduna state Governor, have reached advanced stage, and assured people of the Chiefdom that all hands are on deck to ensure success of the coronation ceremony.
According to him, the special Guest of Honour for the event is His Excellency, the Governor of Nasarawa state, Engineer Abdullahi Alhaji Sule FNSE, while His Royal Highness the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli and his Jama’a counterpart, Alhaji Muhammad Isa Muhammadu II will be the Royal Fathers of the Day.
He added that the Executive Chairman of Sanga Local Government, Honourable Bisallah Mallam is scheduled to be the chief host. The event will also feature performances by various cultural troupes from Sanga and other neighboring states such as Bauchi and Nasarawa, who will come to showcase their cultural talents in solidarity with the Chiefdom.
Wazirin Gwantu used the occasion to commend the Deputy Governor of Kaduna state, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe and Alhaji Abdullahi Maikano MON, (The Leader) for their leading roles in the establishment of Gwantu Chiefdom.
He also applauded the pioneer role played by the Chairman of Gwantu People Progressive Union, Prince Bala Audu, in the actualization of the Gwantu Chiefdom.
